We celebrated our 45th Class Reunion during the 2010 July 4th weekend. It was a wonderful spirit-filled  and joyous social occasion. It was very, very special in that most of the activities occurred in the building formerly known as Rosa A Temple High School - the 'launching pad' for the rest of  our lives.

Friday night was 'Get Re-acquainted Night'. We gathered in the school gymnasium for fellowship and socializing. Many of us hadn't seen each other since the 40th Reunion. Some us hadn't seen each other since graduation. We totally enjoyed hearing from our classmates on what has been going on in their lives. We enjoyed a sumptious buffet as part of the activities. Some of us danced to the good old tunes of our high school years.

On Saturday morning there was a Memorial Service for our deceased classmates. We honored their memory in a moving and emotional ceremony. We also had the opportunity to tour the building where we spent four wonderful years receiving a quality education. Since it is now a junior high school, some parts of the building had physically changed. However, you can't change the memories and we enjoyed strolling the hallways  seeing the class rooms and library where we learned our lessons for life.

On Saturday night there was a banquet at the Vicksburg City Auditorium. We enjoyed inspiring speeches from two of our classmates - Dr. Ethel Lassiter and Attorney/Reverend Alfred Chiplin. There was a another delicious buffet to enjoy. The fellowship was a wonderful and memorable experience.

On Sunday morning we attended worship services at Greater Grove Street Baptist Church - the home church of one of our classmates. It was a wonderful experience that enriched  the spiritual content of our weekend. The Class of 1965 was recognized and honored by the Pastor and congregation.

We closed out activities Sunday afternoon at 'On The Mississipi' - a restaurant owned by one of our classmates. We enjoyed  delicious food, closing comments by classmates, and a business meeting.

Magnificient thanks and appreciation goes to the organizing commitee for putting together a reunion experience that will be remembered for years to come.

Please see the '45 Year Reunion' page for picture images of  the weekend . On the 'Links' page there is a short video of the closing event.
